Codemasters are currently working on their next hard-core racing game; DiRT 2. The game is due for release in September 2009 on PC, Xbox 360, PS3, PSP and DS.  DiRT 2 will be the sequel to DiRT in the Colin McRae series. Gamers have had many off-road titles to enjoy recently such as MotorStorm: Pacific Rift and Pure, DiRT 2 will provide a realistic hardcore off-road racing simulator game.

DiRT 2 is set to take the off-road racing genre to a new level with new race modes, more realistic event atmosphere, stunning locations and a broader range of cars. Codemasters are promising that DiRT 2 will deliver a thrilling race experience with extreme sports attitude. Players will compete in a World Tour where they will race in real-world environments and compete in events. There are loads of awesome jumps scattered around the beautifully constructed environments.

There will be plenty of officially licensed rally cars to choose from including seven vehicle classes. Players will have access to them right from the off. Cars will all be fully customizable and damage physics will be taken a step forward. The damage physics of cars will be vastly improved, some gamers didn’t like the fact that as your car got damaged it would affect the car; there will be a mode to change this so it’s only cosmetically damaged and won’t affect how the vehicle drives.

DiRT 2 will be a pick-up-and-play game, making it pleasing to a wide audience. Every aspect of the game will be accessible online allowing up to eight online players. DiRT 2 will include the point-to-point rally mode which DiRT was famous for, along with a new multi-car-racing rally cross mode; allowing up to eight players.

DiRT 2 will see you racing in massive stadiums and venues world-wide. Stunning graphics and improved physics should help to guarantee a more authentic rally racing experience. Online multiplayer is been taken to a totally new level. This should be well worth the wait and will hopefully be an ultimately fantastic racer.
